Full charge division controller for a manufacturing division.  Reports to the corporate controller with a dotted line to the division general manager.  Responsibilities include general accounting, cost and inventory accounting, statement preparation, balance sheet analysis, A/P, budgeting and forecasting (P/L and Balance Sheet), labor control and reporting, and internal controls.  The position has two direct reports.   
Key Traits:   Hard working, highly motivated accounting professional with good technical, system and managerial skills.  Must have good interpersonal skills, organization skills and be a self starter.  Must be willing and able to interact with other departments (purchasing, customer service, manufacturing, IT…) and main customer and design and implement improvements to our systems, procedures and controls with specific emphasis on pricing, gross margin, standard costs and inventory control and reporting.
Prior Critical Experience:  A minimum of 10 to 15 years related experience with at least 4 to 6 years experience in a similar capacity.  Experience must include controllership responsibilities including general, cost and inventory accounting as well as budget and forecast preparation.
Essential Functions:   
• Cost and inventory accounting including maintenance of full absorption standard cost system and financial bills of material.  Develop, implement and maintain daily controls of the standard cost system to assure standard cost accuracy, and inventory valuation and standard gross margin reporting accuracy.
• Maintenance of cost and pricing file.
• Lead person for interaction with company relating to cost and pricing issues.
• General accounting including journal entry preparation and posting, monthly statement preparation, balance sheet account analysis and P/(L) variance analysis.
• Daily control and reporting on the factory labor force.  This includes helping to manage and administer our time and attendance system and procedures.
• Inventory control of both company owned and customer owned inventory.
• Manufacturing variance recording and analysis (labor rate and efficiency variances, material usage and purchase price variance, and overhead spending and absorption variances).
• Assist division management in all profit improvement initiatives.
• Preparation of detailed P/(L) and balance sheet budget and forecasts.
• Manage and control accounts payable processing (1 clerical employee).
• Maintain and improve internal controls.

Record all entries on notes, charts, etc The Director of Nursing reports to and receives general direction from the Chief Administrative officer and is responsible for compliance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations that govern long-term care facilities, and established policies and procedures to enhance the quality of life of our residents by planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Department.  The Director of Nursing provides leadership with regard to clinical practice, team development, quality assurance, and strategic input to assure each resident receives the necessary nursing, medical, and psychosocial services to attain and maintain the highest possible mental and physical functional status.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of Nursing Staff in fulfillment of department programs and activities within budget, with high quality and on schedule.
• Supervise nursing staff with direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, training, motivating, wage and salary recommendations, and performance appraisals. 
• Review nursing department punch detail reports on a daily basis.  Promptly research and submit missed punch forms, PTO requests, etc. as needed to correct daily punches.  Sign all punch detail reports, missed punch forms, and PTO requests to authorize payment.
• Enhance company posture on EEO/ADA by making a good faith effort to recruit, select, develop, and retain protected class employees.
• Assure all nursing staff attends required training.
• Complete and maintain a staffing schedule which ensures the provision of quality care within established budgetary guidelines.
• Determine appropriate staffing levels and approve PTO requests for all direct reports.
• Orient and train staff in proper work practices upon hire.
• Conduct and evaluate retraining and refresher training for all nursing staff, as needed.
• Monitor department staff to assure that they are following established safety and infection control policies and procedures.
• Monitor nursing staff’s adherence to Employee Handbook policies and procedures.  Provide appropriate counseling and discipline as needed.
• Ensure the nursing staff actively participants in fire, safety and disaster preparedness drills.

• Monitor the assessments of residents for accuracy and completeness. 
• Ensure that priorities for nursing action are set in a logical sequence according to the resident’s needs and formulate a plan of care by the appropriate selection of Nurse Practice Standards.
• Ensure the Plan of Care is initiated on resident admission based on all aspects of the initial assessment.  Ensure the plan includes physiological, psychosocial, and environmental factors.
• Perform ongoing assessments.  Review and monitor the revised plan of care based on new data and the resident’s condition.
• Communicate with physicians regarding resident needs, the nursing assessments, and recommendations as needed.  Collaborate with other nurses and nursing department staff to ensure the resident’s well being.
Oversee development and implementation of nursing care plans and assessments.  Develop and implement care plans and assessments, when necessary.
• Oversee resident’s changes to ensure that avoidable decline is prevented and changes in condition are recorded.
• Observe conditions which indicate possible need for restorative nursing programs and notify appropriate staff of the need for evaluation.
• Ensure the physician and responsible party is notified of changes in condition.
• Ensure all nursing notes convey specific care provided and the resident’s response or lack of response to the care provided.
• Perform all nursing services in accordance with the individualized care plan.
• Honor the resident’s refusal of treatment request.  Document such requests.
• Oversee the development of preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the nursing needs of each resident.
• Oversee the development of written plans of care that identify the nursing needs of the resident and the goals to be accomplished for each nursing need identified.
• Ensure that all nursing personnel are aware of the care plans and that care plans are used in providing daily nursing services to the residents.
• Review nurses notes and monitor residents to ensure the care plans are being followed and that residents’ needs are being met.
• Review and revise care plans and assessments as necessary.
Ensure nursing involvement in quality improvement initiatives and health/safety programs.
• Lead nursing participation in the development of facility-wide quality improvement processes and procedures.
• Lead nursing participation in processes relating to health and safety issues.

• Promptly report to Chief Administrative Officer all incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents’ rights.

• Assist with orienting residents and their families to the nursing facility upon admission.
• Receive the nursing report upon reporting for duty each shift. Give the nursing report to relief personnel before departing at the end of each shift.
• Communicate and interact effectively, courteously, and tactfully with residents, visitors, family members, peers, and supervisors.
• Thoroughly wash hands before and after performing any service for the resident.
• Make rounds frequently and check each resident routinely to ensure his/her nursing care needs are being met.
• Respond to inquiries or requests from residents and family members in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Promote positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
