Company History

After 25 years of corporate Human Resources experience Coy Renick decided to start his own business. Coy’s last corporate position was Vice President of HR at Stanley Furniture in Stanleytown, VA.  This was about a one hour commute each way from Roanoke.  Coy met with Roy Baldwin, SBD at The Roanoke Regional Chamber and Joseph Bass, CPA, to develop a business plan. The business plan was developed around Coy’s expertise/experience to provide – HR Consulting, Corporate Training, & Professional Recruiting.  The Renick Group was incorporated on September 4, 2004. Coy called on his closest friends in the Human Resources Community and asked what kind of services could be provided. Immediately there was corporate training to perform and job orders for professional recruiting. However, after one year in business, it was clear that the majority of the business was coming from Professional Recruiting. The business was refocused to only provide Professional Recruiting.

 

In 2007 customers started asking – “can we try your people out before we hire them?” That resulted in a second part of the business - Staffing. The introduction of staffing and evaluation-before-hire has proven a very successful addition to the TRG recruiting firm. The Staffing allowed our customers to test drive our candidates before hiring them and provided additional income for the business. Our search process and personal attention truly separates us from other recruiting firms.
